Therapists for college students near Harvard University
Hello! My name is Angela, and I am glad you are here! College can be a stressful time for a lot of people, so if you are feeling overwhelmed or just in need of some support, you are not alone. I typically work with clients who are experiencing some level of anxiety, stress/overwhelm, difficulty adjusting, and/or ADHD (whether diagnosed or questioning). You can expect a casual, welcoming environment in our sessions, where you can show up authentically, no matter what life has thrown your way that week! Sessions take place via telehealth, and I am licensed in both NJ and MA. I take some insurances through Headway, and can provide superbills for those with out of network benefits.
Do you worry about the future? Would you describe yourself as having difficulty with perfectionism, relationships with family & friends, social anxiety or identity? We are a small practice with two therapists--Spencer & Carlie who love providing therapy to young adults as they navigate this exciting and nerve wracking time moving from childhood and dependence to adulthood and independence. We often work with young adults who may have had therapy in high school but did not previously find therapy helpful (often due to a lack of agency in picking their therapist, misunderstanding or invalidation of their experiences, disruptions in confidentiality or lack of concrete coping skills/goals worked on). We provide a reparative experience where clients feel genuinely supported and able to advocate and ask for what they need. We use a variety of different therapy modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal-Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Based Therapy, EMDR, Goal-oriented Therapy and Mindfulness. Our clients often move towards a feeling of confidence, improved relationships and belief in their abilities to handle any challenges that may come their way.
My speciality is working with clients who are feeling stressed out and overwhelmed due to anxiety, feeling burnt out, or both. I support people in learning how to take charge of their anxiety by better understanding the physical and cognitive aspects of anxiety and developing a wide array of coping skills. Managing stress and anxiety is also about learning to set boundaries for yourself and others. I also help people with anxiety-based disorders such as OCD and social anxiety. I also help clients recovery from narcissistic/toxic abuse. My practice is a holistic approach which focuses on my clients' strengths and how to use them to their advantage in managing their mental health.

Hi! I'm Yasmine. I work clinically with adolescents, teenagers, and young adults grappling with issues ranging from anxiety to trauma to cultural identity shifts. Therapy creates a space to better understand ourselves and the way our past impacts our present. In sessions, I work with clients to uncover patterns that contribute to an overall feeling of dissatisfaction in life. This provides the roadmap to help clients build a life that feels full, joyful, and meaningful. Clients tell me that I am warm, non-judgemental, and bring a welcome sense of humor into sessions. Therapy can be hard work. But it is work that I love doing and something that I take very seriously. My practice is informed by my interest in psychology, sociology, anthropology, and feminist studies. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from Brown University and my Master's in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. In the past decade, I have lived in Senegal, Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Lebanon, and I bring a multicultural perspective into the therapeutic space.
Hello! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families. I have experience helping teens and adults with anxiety, depression, addiction, anger, stress, safety concerns, negative thought patterns, and communication issues. I have worked with people in different settings such as inpatient hospitalization, day programs, addiction treatment, in home therapy, community services, and outpatient therapy. I strive to help people find the root of their struggles as someone who is person centered, collaborative, humorous, and empathetic. I believe that effective change is possible when you feel empowered and set up with the right tools for success. I work with people who are looking to embark on a process of intentional healing, self understanding, growth and actualization. I'm here to support you if you are struggling with anxiety, depression, identity issues, interpersonal challenges, difficulties with motivation and focus, healing of trauma, and/or wrestling with life's big questions. Therapy, to me, is a highly collaborative process. You are driving the bus and deciding where to go, and I am here to help you navigate through a process of deep listening, reflection, and psychoeducation. I’m a psychologist licensed in both Massachusetts and Kansas who spent 5 years working in college mental health. My approach to therapy begins with the idea that all people have an inborn drive to grow and make continuous progress in their lives. But, difficult life circumstances often interfere with our natural capacity for growth. Negotiating life transitions, having relationship problems, and managing overwhelming responsibilities can make it hard to feel like our true selves. I strive to provide a warm and reflective space where you can take a break from the chaos of everyday life, observe your experiences and emotions, and reconnect with your core values. I am also an analytical thinker who can help you identify and understand different patterns in your life, both ones that can help you grow, and ones that have been getting in your way. I do my best work with people who feel misunderstood in their lives. If you frequently feel out of place because of who you are, or if you often find yourself being the only person "like you" in any given situation, I’d like to work with you. Through our collaboration, I hope to provide an experience that can help you transform your feelings into a productive creativity that you can carry with you for the rest of your life. If you think that I might be able to help you, please contact me so that we can talk and find out together whether my approach is a good fit for you. Unfortunately, because I am a staff psychologist at KU, I am unable to see students from KU at my private practice for therapy or testing.

Welcome! Thank you for being here. I'm so excited to get to know you and your nervous system. As a trauma and somatic therapist, I help women process unresolved trauma through a Somatic Experiencing framework while also helping them increase self-esteem, self-confidence, set healthy boundaries and ultimately live an intentional life outside of survival mode. I work with women experiencing anxiety, dissociation, trauma flashbacks/memories and psychosomatic symptoms. Psychosomatic symptoms include, muscle tension, burning sensations, non-epileptic seizures, heart palpitations, tightness in the throat, tingling, IBS, migraines, etc. As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I work with your nervous system to help create safety in your body, increase the capacity for you to be with uncomfortable emotions/sensations, and discharge stored traumatic energy so that your nervous system can return to a more balanced state. If you're ready to connect with your body, somatic therapy is for you. I offer ongoing individual therapy sessions as well as DROP-IN sessions. Drop-in sessions are the perfect way to try out Somatic Experiencing without committing to ongoing therapy. To book your drop-in session, visit my website and book online. I'm looking forward to connecting with you soon! :)

I enjoy working with young adults who are transitioning into more independence and finding what resonates for them as far as careers, family, friends, fun, and overall feelings towards themselves. I facilitate art therapy directives in session to help us find solutions to questions, feel better overall, self-soothe, augment self confidence, and have fun in the process of creating--because we are all creating our lives, all the time. College, whether undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral level, is a time of growth, hard work, and unknowns. Our therapy sessions are a comfortable and safe haven for what is important to you. You can expect to feel like you are in control of your life and your emotions, as well as feeling heard and validated in our sessions.
