I am a lover of liminal spaces. To me, the liminal, the “in-between”, is a space of great possibility. It lies at the edge of certainty and uncertainty. It beckons us to drop what we think we know and be with what is actually present. My identities and life experiences give me a sense of being “in-between.” I’m a gender fluid, Puerto Rican person who grew up in the diaspora. I grew up in a military family and spent my childhood moving from place to place. As an adult, I continued to move, spending years living and working in the Pacific Islands and Latin America. I explore liminal spaces in my exploration of fiber art, as well as in my music. I love to create new combinations of seemingly opposing elements, whether that is an innovative way of weaving or creating a folksy version of a salsa song. As a therapist, my “in-between” experiences reinforce my belief that when we can stay present in the place of flux, of uncertainty, then change and transformation is possible. I have spent over 8 years providing somatic, present-moment focused, and intuitive psychotherapy to survivors of sexual violence, sexual abuse and individuals experiencing grief. I combine extensive training in Gestalt therapy, Internal Family Systems, psychedelic-assisted therapy and mindfulness-based interventions to aid clients in creating lives they love. My activism and commitment to social justice come to bear in years of experience in community mental health. I believe that personal healing is bound in collective healing, that we are all threads in the larger tapestry of life. Through my practice, I aim to empower individuals to invest in their wholeness, health, and joy, recognizing that we are all the medicine we need.
We all hope to be happy, feel fulfilled, be at peace and enjoy our days. We want to feel that our life has meaning and purpose and we strive for that in our relationships and other areas of life. We want to be free from chronic worry, negative thinking, disturbing emotions, painful memories, and behaviors and relationships that interfere with peace in the present moment and beyond. Suffering is a part of life--it is inevitable. Healing is about moving through and beyond suffering and limitation, transforming pain and suffering into personal power. Our focus will be to move fully into a happy and fulfilling life, whatever that might mean to you.

With over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about supporting young adults as they navigate life’s transitions and pursue meaningful growth. Whether you are a college student or recent graduate adjusting to a new season of life, an individual facing anxiety or depression, or a couple preparing for marriage or working to strengthen your relationship, I strive to provide guidance that feels both supportive and practical. My Christian faith shapes my personal values; however, I work with people from all backgrounds and beliefs. Faith-based perspectives are incorporated into counseling only if a client specifically desires it. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Life transitions—whether expected or unexpected—can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate them alone. Together, we can explore the challenges you are facing and work toward the emotional and personal goals that matter most to you. I specialize in working with adults experiencing life changes, including college and post-college transitions, and relationship challenges. I also support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and stress that often accompany these seasons of change.

Therapy is more about building new associations, making new, healthier default pathways. It is almost as if therapy is taking your two-lane dirt road and building a four-lane freeway alongside it. The old road stays, but you don’t use it much anymore. Therapy is building a better alternative, a new default. And that takes repetition, and time, honestly, it works best if someone understands how the brain changes. This is why understanding how trauma impacts our health is essential for everyone.” ~ Dr. Bruce Perry I am a licensed professional counselor with over 10 years of experience in various mental health settings such as Outpatient facilities, Inpatient hospitals, Crisis Center, but mainly in public and private alternative school settings. I have served children, adolescents/teens as well as adults. A dandelion will remain closed if there is a storm on the horizon, but once the storm has passed it will open up its beautiful, vulnerable self to the world. Only with safety is healing possible. In the same way, humans stay closed up tight if the environment isn’t safe. We know the importance of a safe, supportive environment and strive to provide that to each client. For counseling in Pennsylvania, whether in-person or online, we are here to walk beside you, hear your experience, provide guidance, and help you find the life you’ve so desired. The art of therapy is a process with which it can take time to become familiar. Psychotherapy is most effective when the therapist and the client are able to build trust with each other. The trust established between the client and the therapist allows for openness, honesty, and vulnerability in the session. As you progress through therapy, you may experience difficult emotions such as anger, hurt, disappointment, or pain. These emotions are natural to the healing process and it is my role to help care for you when you do experience these emotions. Practicing primarily from a Psychodynamic frame with a strong emphasis on attachment, I incorporate Schema, Cognitive-Behavioral, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and other Process-Experiential approaches and techniques based on the needs of the client(s). Although I work with a variety of issues, my primary clinical focus is trauma, emotional abuse, affairs and betrayal traumas, existential crisis and restoration/deepening of the relationship one has with him/her/their self. Simply, I am interested in helping individuals and couples restore their sense of safety, re-establish their sense of self, re-discover their place in relationships and the world, and find meaning in life. Populations with whom I am particularly familiar and enjoy working with are: Young Adults, Artists and Creatives, and the LGBTQ Community. I help individuals, couples and groups work through relationship and life-stage concerns, issues pertaining to sexuality and gender identity, and questions and concerns around faith and spirituality.
For close to 20 years, I have worked in the field of mental health and addiction. I have extensive experience working with all disorders from mild to severe and specialize in working with the dual diagnosed (mental health and addictions) population; especially those suffering from mood disorders, anxiety disorders and trauma related issues. I am able to offer guidance and support to not only the client who is suffering but their family and support system as well. I believe that all people are capable of improving their life with hard work, openness and a desire for change. I am passionate about working with individuals that have experienced trauma in their lives and assisting them with rebuilding their lives and finding peace, wholeness and health. I am trained in several modalities; CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Motivational Interviewing, and Harm Reduction. I have extensive experience facilitating both group and individual counseling and genuinely believe that all people are capable of change if they are willing to work hard and commit to the process.
I use a humanistic, person-centered approach, utilizing a trauma-informed perspective. I strongly believe in the counselor-individual relationship, and feel a person's experiences influence their outlook and approach to the world. Through this approach, I feel individuals have the potential to grow if they have the support and environment to do so.
