Hi, I’m Kiara, I’m the therapist behind Lunar Counseling! I work with teens and adults who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, and trauma. Too many people are stuck in a cycle of distress without truly resolving anything. This leaves many feeling detached, numb, and uncertain about their future. I believe most mental health challenges can be addressed through effective therapy and by developing healthy coping skills. BUT, that can be so hard to do on your own. I have found for many individuals, having a therapist to talk through issues can be a gamechanger for their mental health. So, I use my seven years of therapy experience to guide people just like you as you work through your mental health challenges and regain control of your life. To get started, your next step is to schedule a 15-min phone consultation to see if we are a good fit. You don’t have to let things get worse or stay feeling numb and overwhelmed. I can help guide you as you overcome your challenges and get back to feeling like yourself again.
Hello and welcome! I am thankful you are here and certainly understand the overwhelm that can happen when reading through profiles. Please, don't hesitate to request a consultation meeting over phone or video. I'm happy to answer any questions to assist you in discovering if we may be a good fit in working together. Over the past 9 years, I have worked closely with adolescents, adults, and families while facing many of life's challenges as well as struggles with mental health. Folks often work with me through difficult life transitions, family or relationship issues, personal insecurities, and body image concerns. I have spent a significant time enhancing my education and experience supporting folks with recovery from trauma in all its forms, stress and anxiety, as well as mood disturbances, emotional distress, and depression. Additionally, I compassionately support people navigating troublesome experiences with substance misuse. My clients and I often focus on developing a trusting relationship that emphasizes open, honest communication within a non-judgmental, laid back environment. Together we identify the areas of growth and healing that best suit their unique needs and work collaboratively to recognize personal strengths, build skills and knowledge, and foster a strong support network. My approach to therapy is relaxed and casual, while promoting a flexible and adaptive experience that aligns with each individual. All of my services are through phone and video sessions. My schedule can be flexible so feel free to ask about additional availability. I am currently based in Pennsylvania, However, I am licensed to work with people in both Pennsylvania and North Carolina, as I was living in Western NC for 12 years prior to moving back to my home state of PA. We're not just another mental health practice. At Resilient Minds, we believe in the power of resilience as well as connection, compassion, and understanding. Our dedicated team of therapists and counselors, located in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, are here to support you on your journey towards emotional well-being and resilience. We strive to create a warm and inviting space where you can feel heard, valued, and empowered.
Hi! I'm from Pittsburgh and proud to be practicing in my home town. Therapy ranges from directive to less structured approaches. Directive approaches involve identifying a specific problem and starting interventions including skill building for the client. Less directive therapy involves self exploration and understanding our symptoms in an interpersonal context. These two approaches can be combined, tailored to the client. The client's responsibility is committing to therapy, and showing up weekly at the designated time, and engaging in the process. While the therapist is an expert in psychology, the client is an expect in themselves and is ultimately the source of change and improvement. I see myself as a guide, helping the client see things they may have missed or avoided, and making connections that wouldn't otherwise be obvious. The process is collaborative and frequently rewarding.
My practice is based on the belief in the strength and resilience within all people, even in life's most trying times. Right now you may be feeling overwhelmed, lost, or disconnected from what is meaningful to you. I'd be happy to speak with you so that you may determine if I'm the right person to help you. If you feel that I am, I'll meet with you to discuss your problems, strengths, and goals. We will decide together what your long-term goals for therapy are. During each session, we will collaborate to discuss what problems you have been experiencing and how we can approach them. I'll provide feedback that may include asking you to look at the problem a different way, learning to tolerate difficult feelings, or learning skills, such as relaxation. I ask that you come prepared to session with ideas of what we should focus on. I respect the time and effort you put nto therapy, and I want it to be used in a way that is valuable to you.If you've gotten this far and think I can help, please feel free to call or email me. I offer all prospective clients a free 15-minute phone consultation.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has expertise in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. I provide individual therapy to those who want to enjoy life and get to know themselves better in the process. Through my experience, I have learned the value of an interactive and collaborative environment to best support my client’s growth and development. I take a client-centered and strength-based approach to treatment. I utilize various therapeutic interventions based on the individual client’s needs and interests. This includes cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, play, art, music, and writing.
My name is Sandra Dickinson, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a mother to four. I specialize in trauma and anxiety and the issues that come with loss, disappointment, and uncertainty. Many of the clients I work with are navigating life transitions—such as adjusting to college life, are in difficult relationships, many are struggling with pregnancy and postpartum, infertility, adoption, parenting, or caregiving. I have many years of experience working with Veterans and military spouses, and supporting people after they have experienced trauma. In our first sessions, my goal is for you to feel truly heard, understood and supported. Together we’ll create a plan to help guide your healing and growth at a comfortable pace.
You may look like you have it all together yet inside you feel anxious, exhausted, or like you’re never “enough.” The need to be “perfect”, frequent memories of past traumatic experiences, or challenges navigating unfulfilling relationships may have left you feeling disconnected from yourself and who you believe you truly are. You want to feel present, more confident, and at peace with yourself - to stop just “surviving” and start healing. My approach is rooted in EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and mindfulness-based therapies, aiming to help release the emotional charge of painful memories while gaining greater self-awareness, compassion, and balance. Together, we’ll work to heal old wounds, quiet self-doubt, and cultivate a more grounded, fulfilling life. You don’t have to carry the weight of “having it all together” anymore. In doing the work, you can reconnect with your strength and rediscover peace within yourself. If this resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. Healing can begin with one courageous step.
I am licensed to provide therapy for 18+ and adults who are experiencing a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, self esteem and relationship problems. I have been practicing for over 25 years with experience in mood disorders (depression, anxiety, SAD, panic) and relationship issues. Other areas of interest for me include grief, self esteem issues, issues of college aged & young adults, and the elderly. My approach is warm, accepting and straight forward. I use many treatment modalities, but focus on problem solving collaboratively with my client. I can respond to e-mail quicker than voicemail.
My primary focus is providing honest communication with patients and quality resources for all those involved.
I help students who need support with a multitude of issues including depression, anxiety, Substance Use Disorder, drug or alcohol abuse, behavioral and process addictions like gambling, isolation, academic issues, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. I have been helping individuals and families my entire career and graduated with my second Masters Degree in 2009. I became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2015. I am licensed to practice in both PA and SC and am currently able to provide telehealth online therapy.
Many of the students I work with are navigating a lot internally—stress, anxiety, self-doubt, or feeling unsure about their path. You might find yourself overthinking, putting pressure on yourself to have everything figured out, or struggling in relationships while trying to balance it all. You may look like you’re doing fine on the outside, but feel overwhelmed or stuck underneath. You don’t have to have everything figured out. If you’re open to growing, gaining clarity, and building a stronger relationship with yourself, we’d likely work well together.
Everyone Copes Differently There is no one right way to cope with trauma, triggers, and other difficulties you’re struggling with. However, when your stress and anguish affect your relationships, work, education, self-confidence, or general ability to feel happy, there has to be another way. Wherever you are in your healing journey, your feelings are valid, and you deserve to be heard. But getting the help you need means more than talking to someone who looks great on paper. Finding a therapeutic strategy that works means connecting to a certified professional who understands what you’re going through, how your life is being impacted, and what it means to feel “normal” again. You are enough. My Wellness Center is here to help during your healing journey.
Relationships are both the most difficult and the most rewarding things about being human, and they are HARD! I believe very strongly in the power of relationships to heal as well as hurt. I help people look at the relationships in their lives and figure out how to move forward in a new way. I work with all types of relationships. My particular areas of interest include defiant teenagers, self-harm, couples therapy, mindfulness, and trauma work. When the most important relationships in our lives are strong, I believe that we can handle whatever problems life throws at us.
