Reaching out and asking for help can sometimes be a daunting task, & if you have found yourself ready to make that first phone call, you have done the hardest part. The stressors of life, coupled with issues we may have faced in the past, or are currently facing today may hinder us on the road to a happy and fulfilled life. The issues we face can have an impact on all facets of our lives, from our interpersonal relationships, our work, our spirituality, and overall mental and physical wellbeing. I am experienced and skilled at working with adults, couples, and teens that are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, emotional disturbance, and parenting and family conflict. I am currently in a new office space in Greenville, NC. I am taking in person and virtual clients. My approach to therapy is laid back, as I provide a holistic approach to therapy, as I take the whole person, with their unique background, culture, life experiences, & personality in to consideration. My name is Chaney, and I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner. I am passionate about helping people improve their mental health and overcome the obstacles that they face. I work with children, adolescents, and adults. I am affirming to LGBTQ+ and neurodiverse folks. I also have special training and interest in helping folks with diabetes cope with diabetes distress and burnout. It is my belief that this journey to mental wellness is a partnership, and I look forward to finding unique solutions for each person I meet. Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Raleigh, NC

My name is Laura Fisher-Caudill (she/her), and as a trauma therapist and human, I am excited to get to know you. As a highly sensitive, empathetic person with big emotions, I love helping other empathetic humans heal from past trauma. As someone who’s experienced mental health struggles and complex trauma throughout my life experience, it’s been incredibly rewarding to provide a space where people can create meaningful connections between their past experiences and current realities and work towards healing from past trauma to find their own inner control, wisdom, and growth in the process. I am deeply committed to helping clients I work with find their inner strength, resilience, and the tools they need to heal from the past and create a life filled with purpose, joy, and fulfillment. My goal is to empower others in learning effective tools for navigating emotional distress and unburdening the pain of past trauma to create their lives worth living! My clients often describe themselves and their experiences as: Cycle breakers in their family systems. They often have lived experience as the “golden child” or “scapegoat” in their family of origin and may struggle with boundary setting or understanding the impact of childhood dynamics on their relationships and trauma responses in the present. Adult children of parents who were/are emotionally immature and/or have narcissistic behavior patterns. Complex traumatic experiences throughout their lifetimes, such as emotional invalidation or emotional trauma/neglect, criticism, and/or judgment by caregivers, being parentified early in life or expected (either overtly or covertly) to caretake emotional needs of their parents and not have needs of their own, being placed in the role of peacekeeper in their family system, and may have experienced sexual, physical, or other forms of abuse as well. Living with a chronically dysregulated nervous system due to experiences of complex traumatic events throughout their lives, often beginning at a very young age. Somatic, or body based, symptoms of complex trauma, such as chronic pain, illness, stored emotions in hips, shoulders and other areas of the physical body. Neurodivergent, specifically being highly sensitive to sensory experiences, emotionally intense, empathetic humans who identify as being gifted and/or having ADHD. Members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Parents, partners, or loved ones of members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Going to a counselor can be intimidating or nerve wracking. Will they accept me? What if I don't know what exactly I want to talk about in therapy? Or do I really want to open up about some of these things? All of these feelings are really normal when beginning counseling and I've had experience working with kids, teenagers, young adults, and adults to begin the journey of processing whatever they would like to work on in therapy. I offer collaborative, supportive, and honest therapy to provide my clients with therapy that helps them identify and work towards the changes they want to see in their lives. I would say my most successful clients have been clients who have been experiencing feelings of anxiety and processing past trauma. I have training in EMDR therapy to help assist with processing past trauma and I work from a theoretical framework of attachment theory, which emphasizes how past relationships impact current relationships. I also provide couples counseling as I have training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. I am currently accepting new clients and I'd love to talk over phone or email to see if I might be a good fit for you!
