Therapists for college students near Harvard University
I am a pre-licensure clinician and post-doctoral fellow in clinical psychology with Copernican Clinical Services. I have worked in numerous settings across schools, community health centers, and college counseling environments. I work with clients to create a highly specialized therapy experience that best suits their needs and facilitates personal and emotional growth. I often work with clients to manage and extinguish anxiety symptoms and live a fuller, more meaningful life. My therapeutic style focuses on an integration of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Relational-Cultural Therapy (RCT) techniques. I have extensive experience with queer/LGBTQ+ individuals across the lifespan and including issues such as coming out, sexuality, LGBTQ+ family life, life transitions, HIV, and experience of gender roles and presentation. I work to help clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors impact their experience of the world and their lived identities. I strive to create a safe environment and my therapeutic style is informed by queer and anti-racist justice work.
I believe personal growth and healing can come from a strong therapeutic alliance. Change and recovery are possible. I promise to provide a trusting, open environment where you will feel seen, understood, and accepted as you are. My approach is genuine, creative, and curious. I strive to help you recognize beliefs that are holding you back, more effectively face struggles in your life, and learn skills to develop healthier relationships and a more meaningful life. In the end, the larger goal is to make you a better ally to yourself. Over the years, I’ve worked primarily with adults and adolescents with depression, anxiety, and trauma and have extensive experience working with identity issues and major life transitions. My clients have experienced challenges with their friendships and family relationships, gender and sexual identity, schooling and careers, parenting and caregiving, and illness and loss. I draw on diverse therapeutic approaches including mindfulness, family systems theory, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and DBT. It takes great courage to face what Yeats described as the “dark corners” of one’s soul. I welcome the opportunity to meet you and support your exploration and self-discovery.
I offer IFS and EMDR therapy to empathetic, high-achieving women who struggle with self-doubt, people-pleasing, emotionally immature relationships, and cycles of trauma. My clients often find me when they can no longer manage the burden alone. They feel stuck in hurtful relationships, they lack trust in themselves, and they feel shame even when they know it’s not their fault. You deserve peace. My goal is to help you feel deeply connected to your values and intuition so you can break free from the cycles you’ve been stuck in and thrive as the most authentic version of yourself.

We live in a stressful world where everyone is struggling. The current global crisis compiled with our personal life experiences have created a sense of overwhelm, burnout, isolation and disconnection. And our life journeys are full of crisis, loss, grief, and trauma. These experiences activate fear, alter patterns of behavior, create limitations in perception, relationship issues, low self-esteem, addictions, negative thought patterns and a multitude of mental and physical health symptoms. An accumulation of these unprocessed emotions and unresolved traumas can weaken the spirit, affecting one’s core vitality for life. Kellyann is nurturing by nature and creates a safe and compassionate environment where trust is easily built within the therapeutic relationship, so that healing can take place. Kellyann is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who employs a holistic and spiritual approach to healing. She works with her clients to search for the stuck points and old wounds that may be getting in the way of finding the happiness they desire and deserve. Kellyann’s counseling sessions are built on a holistic model where she applies multiple approaches based on what a client wants and needs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is used to support clients with managing their symptoms in healthy ways. Dialectical Behavior Therapy is used to assist clients with learning how to process the emotions they find intolerable. Psychoanalysis allows Kellyann to look for healing at the root cause. Internal Family Systems teaches an individual what they may need and identify ways to receive it. Mindfulness allows clients to accept their truth even when what have happened to them may have been extremely wrong and unfair and Trauma Processing allows for clients to create a healthy connection to their experiences through a narrative. Spirituality invites the opportunity to see a possibility for hope even one is nowhere in sight. I work with adults who primarily struggle with memory and concentration problems related to ADHD, depression/anxiety, traumatic brain injury etc. in my practice in Boston. I have a structured, problem-solving approach to treatment that focuses on organization and practical skills to manage symptoms. However, each person I work with is different and therefore each treatment plan is tailored to them and their needs. For ADHD in particular, a combination of medications and therapy is the most effective in treating ADHD. Your sessions with me: 1. During your first session, I just want to get to know you better. From this initial session, I can provide you feedback about what is the primary cause of some of your attention/memory difficulties that impact your day to day abilities. 2. One focus would be to implement structure, and routine. I can help provide this external structure by helping you utilize a planner to schedule ahead and manage time, make realistic and reasonable goals to maximize success, and organize aspects of your life. I will also teach you practical memory strategies and ways you can easily retain information. 3. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which involves changing negative thinking patterns and behaviors is also found to be effective in treating ADHD. CBT helps “slow down” your thinking so you can reflect on what prevents you from making those deadlines, reduce impulsive behaviors, and learn problem solving skills that can make a difference in work, school, and or personal relationships. 4. Mindfulness exercises involve paying attention to your thoughts, feelings, and physiological sensations so you can be present in the moment. With practice, you can train you brain to sustain attention.
I work with young adults and adults who are struggling with a range of mental health concerns. I specialize in supporting individuals with eating disorders, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, and trauma-related concerns. I take an integrative approach, tailoring evidence-based interventions to meet the client’s individual needs and drawing from my experience as both a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and licensed art therapist (ATR). I aim to help my clients achieve meaningful change with an eclectic combination including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), radically-open DBT, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and enhanced CBT, motivational interviewing, and art therapy, among others. Within this integrative framework, I hold a person-centered and trauma-informed lens and offer compassion, humor and directness to my clients. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is an essential foundation for growth and change, and I strive to create a space that is collaborative, warm, and accepting.

Hope Ave Therapy is a group of warm, skilled, experienced and effective licensed clinicians who practice in Waltham, MA and serve the Greater Boston community. We prioritize your comfort, trust and the therapeutic alliance and utilize research-supported "best practice" treatments to meet your needs and support you in growth and change.
Our team values a therapeutic style that is warm, yet interactive and direct. We believe in providing clients with a comfortable and safe climate to enhance personal insight, explore problematic patterns, learn practical skills, and make meaningful change. As a collaborative process, we highly value open discussion in therapy about what feels to be working well, and what feels to be less effective. While we work with clients on many different issues, our clinicians have particular expertise in trauma, eating disorders, self-injury/destructive urges, stress management, pain/illness, problematic coping behaviors, and often co-occurring mood (i.e., Depression) and Anxiety Disorders. Therapy is never one size fits all. We strive to create deep and meaningful connections that meet you where you are, and support you in getting to where you want to be.
Lumin Health is a psychiatrist-led mental health organizations serving young adults who feel stuck with depression and anxiety despite efforts with traditional methods. We provide two evidence-based options: esketamine (Spravato) — an FDA-approved, insurance-covered treatment — and ketamine therapy delivered in a carefully monitored setting. Each session happens in a private room with vitals tracked, standard two-hour observation, and a ride-home requirement to keep you safe. You set the pace; our team provides steadiness. Access matters, especially for students and early-career adults. Spravato treatment is insurance-covered at Lumin Health; we accept Medicare and most major plans in Massachusetts (Aetna, Anthem, BCBS, Cigna, Evernorth, Harvard Pilgrim, Optum, Point32Health, Tufts, United Healthcare). Our team handles prior authorizations and coordination so you’re not navigating forms between classes or shifts. Out-of-pocket costs typically range from $10 to $25, which is meaningful when the treatment typically costs $500+. Care is local and predictable: clinics in Woburn, Brookline, Newton, and Cambridge Massachusetts, flexible scheduling, and collaborative communication with your current therapist or prescriber. That structure helps ketamine treatment fit real life — exams, internships, family demands — rather than the other way around. Many young adults describe ketamine for depression as creating a window where rumination eases and possibilities feel closer. Spravato and ketamine treatment don’t cure depression, but they may offer rapid relief for some and a safer way to do deeper work with psychotherapy or behavioral support. What matters most is what feels possible to you now. If you’re exploring ketamine therapy or Spravato, Lumin Health will meet you with clarity, agency, and insurance-savvy support.

Neuropsychological assessment can be pursued for a variety of reasons, but typically, it is to gain a deeper understanding of why you or your child may be struggling, find answers, and figure out what to do about it! Dr. Pamela Wineman will help you find these answers, and set you on a path toward building the resources and supports necessary to begin making progress in a way that is practical and realistic. Testing batteries are custom built based upon the referral question.
