Starting college can be an exciting time, opening so many new doors in terms of defining one’s identity and sense of purpose in life, as well as establishing a network of meaningful friendships. It however also involves letting go of one’s reliance on family and friends and engaging many new options which can be quite overwhelming. So many students start to experience anxiety or depression and begin to struggle with relationship or career concerns. I really enjoy working with college students during this complicated but promising period of their life, and helping them navigate the pitfalls and create an enriching experience for themselves. I have 20 years of experience and take an insight oriented approach to my work. I try to help people gain clarity about themselves and determine what is of real value to them so they can make better decisions and create a healthy and meaningful life experience for themselves.

It can be hard to know when to call a therapist. Have you found yourself thinking the below thoughts? -There is something wrong with me -I don't understand the way I am feeling -No one understands me -This isn't supposed to be the way my college experience is -I just can't handle these feelings of sadness/stress/anxiety If so, it sounds like you could benefit from talking to a therapist. Life is hard and therapy can be an effective tool to help navigate life's difficulties. As your therapist, I will sit with you and listen as you share your struggles and we will make sense of things. Together, we can figure out how you are unintentionally "getting in your own way" and also recognize the ways you are helping yourself thrive (but perhaps hadn't even realized it!). I'll teach you about your emotions, the mind-body connection and the relationship between thoughts-feelings-behaviors. This information will help you learn new and better ways to help yourself when you are feeling overwhelmed with your emotions and life challenges. Sounds like this could be helpful? Send me an email, we can schedule a 15 min phone call where I can answer your questions and we can get started.

Hi and welcome to the start or continuation of your mental health journey. You are already making a wonderful first stride in your healing process by searching for a therapist! If you are in a place where you feel stuck and want to change, let's address it. It is good to have an unbiased person in your life, who can keep it respectfully real with you and provide a space to communicate your feelings. As a therapist, I specialize in working with adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem, and inner conflict. I work with clients from a strengths-based, perspective; focusing on your positives and using them to help with your challenges. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); breaking down how our thoughts directly affect our behaviors. Every client is different and I will work to make sure I am providing the appropriate interventions for your growth. You have so much potential and it is okay if you seek out help, it is commendable as we do not have to navigate this life alone. If this resonates with you, I look forward to hearing from you and helping you work on your life goals! Contact me for a consultation to see if we are a great fit and assess goals. Let’s work together, I would love to support you.

College can look exciting and successful from the outside while feeling overwhelming behind the scenes. You may be struggling with anxiety, academic pressure, perfectionism, relationship concerns, family expectations, or uncertainty about who you are and what comes next. Maybe others see you as responsible, driven, or strong, but you feel exhausted from trying to keep everything together. I work with college students who are used to putting pressure on themselves, taking care of others, or feeling as though they must always perform well. Therapy can be a space where you do not have to have all the answers. Together, we can explore the experiences and patterns contributing to your stress, strengthen your confidence, and help you develop healthier boundaries, relationships, and coping skills. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your needs. Whether you are adjusting to college, navigating friendships or dating, questioning your identity, managing family stress, or preparing for life after graduation, I will support you in gaining clarity and feeling more grounded. Contact me for a free consultation to ask questions, learn more about my approach, and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
