Welcome, and thanks for looking! I'm excited to begin your counseling journey with you. My role as your therapist will be to not only help you feel safe and supported, but also gently challenge you when appropriate. I am especially eager to work with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, self-esteem, relationship troubles, body image, LGBTQ+ related themes, and difficulties related to life transitions. My primary approach to counseling is very relational. I believe that trusting your therapist is the pinnacle of what makes therapy work. One of the best parts of my job is hearing someone say "I couldn't wait to talk to you about this!" I want our work to feel collaborative and tailored to your individual needs as much as possible. Seeking therapy can be very intimidating, and you're taking a brave step by being here. My goal is to make you feel as comfortable, validated, and supported as possible when we work together. Hi! What are you struggling with? What challenges are you facing? Do you need more support in your life? Are you looking for someone who can listen to you, create an environment where you can talk about things that are hard in your life, and is able to support you in areas you want to grow and develop in emotionally? I do a lot of work with anxiety, people in larger bodies and body liberation, all kinds of life changes and adjustments, the queer and trans communities, people in higher education, relationship and communication challenges of all kinds including parents, roommates, and intimate partners including ethical non monogamy. I am more than happy to answer questions or to provide more detail, and offer a free thirty minute consultation to see if we are a good fit and if I can be helpful to you. I do not accept insurance. My website has detailed information on why to not work with insurance companies. Many of my clients have agreements with their parents to pay for therapy in order to have the support they need to be able to thrive in a college setting. My current fees for individual therapy is $225 a session. I can provide superbills, which are a way to recoup part or all of what you pay me through your insurance company. I have not had any insurance company refuse to do that for any clients I have worked with so far. Please check out my website for much more information about me and how I work. I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi, I'm Kate Lipman (she/her). I hope we get the chance to connect. People I work with best often struggle with self-esteem, anxiety, and depression (among many other things). I love working with students as they navigate the sometimes rough waters of schooling and early adulthood. I hope our work together can be a steadying and calming force in the midst of those previously turbulent seas. Please reach out to me for a free 15-30 min phone call to see if we are a good fit!

Whether facing in-the-moment or long term concerns, therapy provides a unique and professional third-party perspective. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and PTSD, and I am a proud queer therapist with a deep commitment to supporting LGBTQIA+ clients through both internal struggles and the very real weight of societal pressures. I have worked across a range of settings, including health promotion, Mass General Brigham, and group practice. I draw from an eclectic blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Humanistic Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Feminist Therapy—tailoring my approach to what fits you. I hold a Master's in Psychology from Boston College, where I have returned as an adjunct professor of the practice. I bring that same teaching orientation into my work with clients—helping you understand the skills, frameworks, and coping strategies behind what we explore together. My priority is to help you find relief as soon as possible, and to understand the deeper roots of what brought you here in order to sustain feeling better. I view sessions less as a clinical appointment, and more like an honest conversation with someone genuinely in your corner. I'd love to connect—feel free to reach out to schedule a consultation together!
