When I was an undergrad, I taught ballroom dancing and knew I could work with couples. Active listening is a big part of my training. This includes confirming what is being said. Meeting clients “where they are at” is vital and important to be communicated during the first few sessions. Working together to create goals for therapy is the next step. I will explain my ideals for methods of practice, then explore therapeutic methods that work well with the client to achieve their goals.
