Carlyle Stewart
ANGER gets a bad reputation, and so sometimes we miss its purpose. Its purpose? To alert us to IMPORTANT NEEDS GOING UNMET! Problem is, when we’re angry we’re thinking in ways that get in the way of meeting those needs.
I help people connect with the needs behind their anger, learn the words for talking about it in ways that increase the chances of being heard and respected, and find creative solutions. I help people identify the thoughts that cause their anger, and then I help them question those thoughts to discover their own insights and opportunities.
By the way, people who learn these skills gain the option to apply them on their own without a therapist.
In relationships, most people want the win-win -- as long as it really is a win-win and not more compromise! I enjoy helping people find mutually beneficial solutions.
A word on inclusion: In my life I’ve been around the block and through the wringer, more than once. I’m not qualified to look down on anybody! I love my country and I’m friendly to people of all political persuasions, including yours.
I invite you to call. I would like to hear what is important to you. Let’s talk about how we can work together to bring peace and understanding into your relationships and your inner world.
