Ashleigh Guynn
I began my counseling career working with groups, adolescents, and adults experiencing homelessness in a nonprofit setting. In transitioning to private practice I enjoy deeper counseling relationships by getting to walk alongside people more long term. I believe healing takes place with the whole person in mind, attending to psychological, physiological, emotional, social, and spiritual facets of the person. I find it fulfilling to walk alongside my clients as they cultivate wholeness and rediscover the beauty of their stories.
Specialities: I am passionate about working in the specialties of EMDR, trauma, and adoption related issues. I have completed certification in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I have experience counseling clients across a range of issues: anxiety, ADHD, self-esteem/image, mild depression, premarital counseling, marital counseling, and relational issues.
Therapeutic Techniques: I utilize techniques from EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Child-Centered Play Therapy, Strengths Based approach and Gottman techniques, among others. My education focused on an integrated approach, which intersected clinical approaches with Biblical principles. Upon request, I am able to provide counseling from a Biblical perspective.
